Jack's Actual Birthday....Happy 1st!

We took Jack to Wasabi for lunch and they sang happy birthday to him and gave him a piece of cake.  He seemed to like this cake better than his birthday cake!  Afterwards, my friend Courtney and her husband Ruf came by to give Jack his birthday present.  It was a Tickle Me Elmo.  He didn't know what to think of it.  He liked it but if it got near him he would cry.  I can't believe all the things Elmo can do.  It's amazing!  It took him about 4 days to get use to Elmo and now he loves him.  Thanks guys for Elmo and his pirate sock puppet!

We cannot believe that Jack is already 1 years old!  Where has the time gone?  I know everyone says it will fly by and boy are they right!  It felt like just yesterday I was still pregnant.  I get teary eyed thinking about when Jack was born and how much he's grown since then.  We couldn't have asked for a better boy.  He truly is the best thing that has ever happened to us.  He makes us smile and laugh everyday and continues to amaze us with his ever changing personality.  He is walking like crazy and is saying more words.  His absolute favorite word is ball.  Everything is ball this, ball that.  He loves to watch basketball, football and baseball on TV which his daddy loves.  He gets excited when he sees a basketball goal.  I swear he dreams balls because he wakes up pointing to something resembling a ball or circle and says "ball"!  He gets his shoes and goes to the front door when I say " let's go bye bye."  He doesn't like baby food anymore and eats pretty much anything we eat.  He is not a big meat eater - we try to hide it in his food but he manages to spit out just the meat.  He loves bath time and says "bath-bath" and goes to the tub every time we take his clothes off even if it's just to change him. He repeats or tries to repeat what we say so we definitely have to be careful what we talk about!:)  He loves story time at night and his favorite book is Goodnight Moon.  He loves for his daddy to read it to him....over and over again!:)

I know I'm leaving so much stuff out because he does something new everyday.  I love this special time with him and this stage in Jack's life.  I wish there were more hours in the day but I am so grateful I get to spend every minute with him.  Life is good!
